All About The Autism Sensory Clubhouse!
The Autism Sensory Clubhouse is a proposed community clubhouse open to the public and geared to be located in the Prince Georges County, Maryland Area. Exact location is to be determined.
It is an Oasis of Calm and a Place of Development where children can come and explore and develop their senses and social skills.
This clubhouse is proposed to host multi-sensory rooms with soft play areas, padded floors , walls and interactive equipment to engage children with Autism who can learn through play. Also due to the flexible functionality of the multi-sensory rooms it can be used to calm and distress.
It is a fun and exciting place where children can go and chill out, to relax and to process information in a controlled safe secure environment.

Research around these rooms has proven beneficial for not only people with Autism, but with Alzheimer’s, pain con-trol, mental health and post-traumatic stress dis-orders for example.
These rooms enhance development of senses such as hearing, sight, smell, touch, memory and attention. They encourage spatial awareness- (children to understand their location and the location of objects in relation to their own bodies),
concentration, relaxation, imagination and alertness improving communication and vocalization
as well as motor and cognitive develop-ment & skills.
Sensory Rooms can improve moods which gives you respite from over-whelming sensations & continuous
stimming by bringing balance &
harmony.
It is our goal to debut this wonderful Clubhouse by Fall 2012
